The central problem of the research was to investigate how remote classes harmed students who faced obstacles due to the lack of access to technological devices and the absence of internet connection and what were the main difficulties they faced. Furthermore, we seek to understand strategies adopted by the class's leading teacher with the intention of contributing to alleviating learning gaps that may have arisen in this challenging context. The overall objective was to reflect on the main challenges currently faced, in times of pandemic, by the school community with the use of remote teaching, a strategy used to minimize the losses caused by the period of absence from face-to-face classes. To construct this report, I present the following authors as the main interlocutors: Senhoras (2021); Gomes (2021); Mazzaro; Vendramini (2020); Cordeiro (2020), Morin (2020). The research carried out is qualitative in nature, using case study methodology. As a result, it is noteworthy that during remote teaching students had difficulties accessing technologies, lack of motivation on the part of children, difficulties for families in guiding their children in school activities and learning difficulties for children. The research promoted a reflection on the impacts of the pandemic on the learning of Elementary School students at the Municipal School, during the period of emergency remote teaching. Furthermore, we sought to analyze the strategies adopted by the school to overcome the difficulties arising from this challenging scenario.
