Objective: To investigate the perception of the importance and application of (EAN) by teachers from public schools in the city of Campo Redondo/RN. Methods: A mixed and cross-sectional study was carried out with teachers from public schools in Campo Redondo/RN. Data collection took place virtually through a form composed of objective questions that contained questions that aimed to obtain information about the teachers' professional profile, such as training (course), time since training and working, network of activity, levels and series of teaching, in addition to the curricular components that teach, and subjective questions that investigated regarding EAN knowledge. Quantitative data were analyzed using absolute and relative frequency and subjective questions using content analysis technique according to Bardin. Results: All interviewees stated that they recognized the importance of EAN; 87% of teachers said they knew it; 68% said they apply EAN in classes. Conclusions: The majority of teachers reported knowing EAN, however, that they understood it in a biological way, considering only the nutritional aspects of food, not pointing out the social and cultural aspects, with the carrying out of specific actions in schools.
