Monografia (Graduação) - Curso de Direito, Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, RN, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59344Digital abandonment can be characterized as unrestrained access to the internet by children and adolescents without monitoring by their parents/responsibles, and can also occur through acts of excessive exposure of children on digital platforms, which end up violating the principles that guarantee the protection of these individuals. Faced with this problem, the main objective of this work is to understand the phenomenon of digital abandonment and its implications for parental responsibility in light of the Brazilian legal system. The aim is to verify the relationship between digital abandonment and the civil and constitutional responsibility of parents, the State and society, highlighting the focus on parental duties, as well as whether there is the possibility of holding parents responsible for digital abandonment in light of jurisprudence and of Brazilian doctrine. To carry out the analysis, the inductive method will be used, the research base will be bibliographic through scientific articles, doctrines and jurisprudential research, in addition, qualitative and quantitative data extracted from the Tic Kids Online Brasil research will be analyzed, aiming to demonstrate the central problem of work. After the analyses, it was found that the discussion on the topic is contemporary and relevant for the protection of children and adolescents, on the other hand, the debate on the topic is still minimal. Parental liability for digital abandonment is supported by the institutes of the Civil Code, the ECA and jurisprudential understandings, making it possible to identify alternatives for this liability through the application of a fine and/or suspension of family power, and the application of impositions on the family nucleus with a focus on digital education, the latter alternative being the most conducive to the protection of children and adolescents.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Direito de famíliaAbandono digitalResponsabilidade parentalCrianças e adolescentesA responsabilidade parental no abandono digital de crianças e adolescentesbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::DIREITO
