Despite the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN) has the highest number of BSCL cases worldwide, most of the healthcare professionals in RN are unaware of the disease. Since nurses have a key role in hospital care and public health work, this study aimed to investigate the knowledge of nursing professionals working in Mariano Coelho Hospital, in the city of Currais Novos, and in the Onofre Lopes University Hospital, in Natal, about BSCL.
