Considering its relevance, this work aims to propose the implementation of a Botanical Garden in the context of the city of Natal-RN, which, despite its extensive green cover preserved and inserted in Environmental Protection Zones, still lacks public access spaces that provide contact and learning about the environment, especially about the importance of botany. From this perspective, to receive the project, a set of free spaces was chosen in the neighborhood of Capim Macio, which borders Avenida Engenheiro Roberto Freire – one of the main avenues in the city – and forms a corridor between Environmental Protection Zones 2 and 5. As methodological bases, analyzes were developed on the historical context of the Botanical Gardens, regulations that currently regulate them and research of case studies. Then, the analysis of the universe of study was developed, contemplating aspects such as the feasibility of implantation of the institution in the city and the study of physical, environmental, cultural and social conditions of the neighborhood and intervention area.
