Memórias de um silêncio: proposta arquitetônica de um museu e memorial Norte-Rio-Grandense pelas vítimas da COVID-19. 2022. 147f.: il. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo) - Departamento de Arquitetura, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/48920The years 2019 and 2020 were marked by the emergence of the virus responsible, in this decade, for the greatest crisis in public health worldwide. Known for its high rate of transmissibility, COVID-19, as the pathogen is called, is capable of afflicting its victims to the most diverse forms of respiratory syndromes. As a result, the world went through a long period of pain and suffering marked by numerous restrictions on movement (put in place to stop the spread of the virus) that made it impossible for thousands of people to give support and a dignified farewell to family members and friends suffering from the disease. Facing this context, the architecture of museums and memorials has an important role in the act of materializing the emotion of the intangible through a collective memory of what should be remembered over time. This being said, the theme of this work is justified by fostering a very important discussion for the academic and professional environment: how can the constructive characteristics of an architectural project positively or negatively interfere in the physical and emotional recovery of a person who went through the traumatic process of losing a loved one? Thus, this work has the general objective of proposing an architectural design for a Museum and Memorial dedicated to the memory of the victims of COVID-19, adopting the principles of sensory architecture in order to provide the creation of spaces that interact in a welcoming, reflective and emotional way with the public. For this purpose, it is aimed, from the documental analyses: (1) to understand the concepts of sensorial architecture as well as its influence in the search for the creation of welcoming, reflective and memorable environments; (2) to understand the spatial dynamics and the needs of spaces focused on the architecture of museums and memorials; (3) to apply the principles of sensorial architecture in the project aiming to create spaces that connect in a welcoming, reflective and emotional way with the public. As a result, we have a Museum and Memorial of the "extraordinary organism" type, formed by two blocks, a rectangular one (auditorium) and a "T" shaped one (environments for exhibitions, socialization and services), elevated by pilots, which through the use of construction and finishing materials provide a greater relation with the surroundings and propose, through the multi-sensorial gardens, the mitigation of mourning for those who lost a loved one either to COVID-19 or another illness.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/MuseuMemoriais de arquiteturaArquitetura sensorialLutoCOVID-19Memórias de um silêncio: proposta arquitetônica de um museu e memorial Norte-Rio-Grandense pelas vítimas da COVID-19Memories of a silence: architectural proposal for a museum and memorial Norte-Rio-Grandense for the victims of COVID-19bachelorThesis
