With that concern you have with the environment is becoming more apparent because of the lack of care with it, generates irreversible damage. The textile industry is a major cause of environmental damage. The effluents from the industry bring with them a huge amount of pollution load, among them are the dyes that color adheres to textile substrates. Therefore both the adsorbent and the adsorbate was analyzed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), to verify the chemical composition of the material; X-ray diffraction (XRD) to verify the phases formed; infrared spectroscopy to determine functional groups; Thermal analysis to verify the thermal stability of the materials; and microscopy (SEM) to verify the morphology of the material; spectroscopy ultraviolet - visible (UV) light , to measure how much light has been absorbed by the sample; and analyzed chitosan saturation time in relation to the dye. As a result, it was found that chitosan is quite effective for adsorbing the dye in the study. In just 90 minutes, the pH 6, and saturated chitosan adsorbed 97.73% of the dye contained in the solution. The adsorption is more efficient to more acidic pH values and the saturation time obtained, the desired adsorbent mass is above 0.1g.
