Marcadores de risco cardiometabólico estão associados com a alanina aminotransferase em adolescentes com excesso de peso. 2019. 38 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) - Departamento de Nutrição, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/40140Introduction: Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is an enzyme that in situations of liver injury has its high serum concentrations, as in cases of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). There is a gap in the literature with studies assessing cardiovascular risk markers with ALT concentrations in the adolescent population of northeastern Brazil. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between cardiometabolic risk markers and serum ALT concentrations in overweight adolescents and their use as possible indicators of NAFLD risk. Methodology: Cross-sectional study with 120 adolescents (10-19 years) diagnosed with overweight and obesity. Anthropometric data (height, weight and waist circumference) were collected to calculate body mass index and conicity index. blood pressure. Data were evaluated by Pearson's correlation coefficient tests and Fisher's exact test. Those results with p-value <0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Of the 120 adolescents evaluated, 63 (42.5%) were boys and (89%) girls were in the pubertal stage. Boys had significantly higher values of ALT (p <0.050), AST (p <0.010) and conicity index (p <0.010) and girls with fasting insulin (p <0.010). In boys, ALT was positively correlated with fasting insulin (p <0.050), triglycerides (p <0.050) and systolic blood pressure (p <0.050) and in girls with waist circumference (p <0.050), conicity index ( p <0.050), BMI (p <0.010), fasting insulin (p <0.010), HOMA-IR (p <0.010) and HDL cholesterol (p <0.010). Conclusion: Anthropometric and biochemical markers correlated with ALT concentrations in boys and girls, suggesting that changes in these variables are good predictors of elevation of this enzyme.adolescentsalanine aminotransferasewaist circumferenceinsulinlipid profileMarcadores de risco cardiometabólico estão associados com a alanina aminotransferase em adolescentes com excesso de pesoCardiometabolic risk markers associated with alanine aminotransferase in overweight adolescentsbachelorThesis
