The data collection took place through the documentary set located in the Brazilian Digital Newspaper Library (HDB). In the search, the descriptor "" was used, and the time frame was delimited between 1924 and 1929, this period includes the creation of the association until the first year since the plane crash with employees of the institution. Regarding the guiding questions, we ask: what were the motivations that contributed to the creation of the ABE? And yet, what actions have been taken by the association on teacher training? This research is of a historical nature and documentary analysis, having newspapers as main sources. To support the analysis, Noiret's (2015) contributions to the understanding of the transformations in the historian's craft with the advent of the Digital Age and the construction of digital public history were considered. Azevedo et al (2020), in turn, focus on the contributions of digital repositories as a locus of preservation and promotion of research in the field of the history of education through sources in digital format. Ragazzini (2021) discusses what historical sources are and what their role is for the development of research. Carvalho (1998) reports on the trajectory of the institution as an institution focused on educational issues and its actions through committed intellectuals. Rüsen (2015), on the other hand, presents the historical method as a methodology for guiding the research process based on cognitive strategies.
