Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Turismo) - Faculdade de Engenharia, Letras e Ciências Sociais do Seridó, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Currais Novos, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61627The Brazilian tourism sector, after a severe economic crisis in 2020 and 2021 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, showed a significant recovery in 2023, as evidenced by the increase in the flow of foreign visitors, domestic travel, and jobs generated in the sector. In this context, this research aimed to analyze the behavior of the labor market in the hotel sector in the municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte, in the pre- (2018-2019), per- (2020-2022), and post-pandemic (2023) periods. It is worth noting that the labor market in the lodging sector is the one that is most dependent on tourism consumption. Therefore, by observing this sector, it is possible to perceive the strength of tourism consumption in the municipalities under analysis. The research methodology is descriptive in nature, with a quantitative analysis approach of primary data related to employment and unemployment based on data from the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS) and the New General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Novo Caged), from the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE). The results show that of the 161 municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, only 52 (31%) municipalities have a formal labor market in the hotel sector, which in 2023, together totaled 7,099 jobs. The capital Natal alone holds 57% of these jobs (4,091), followed by Tibau do Sul with 16.7% (1,106). Overall, the formal job market in the hotel sector in the state of Rio Grande do Norte has recovered from the pandemic crisis, with 3% more jobs than in 2019. On the other hand, the capital Natal, in 2023, remains 8% below the pre-pandemic scenario.CC0 1.0 Universalhttp://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/Mercado de TrabalhoSetor de HotéisTurismoRio Grande do NorteLabor marketHotel SectorTourismRio Grande do NorteA recuperação do mercado de trabalho do setor hoteleiro potiguar Pós-Covid-19The recovery of the labor market in the hotel sector potiguar Post-Covid-19bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::TURISMO
