In this study, the population's awareness regarding the proper disposal of medicines was investigated at two different moments, 2018 – 2019 and 2020 – 2021, using a sample from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The results showed a change in participants' perceptions over time, highlighting the importance of effective dissemination and policies to improve access to collection points. There has been an increase in awareness about the need for appropriate disposal, indicating an evolution in behaviors and concerns related to the environment and public health.
