Conexões protéticas consideradas de eleição em reabilitações implantossuportadas fixas. 2016. Monografia (GRADUAÇÃO) Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/38986Given the large amount of prosthetic abutment variety currently available on the market, professional’s choice for an adequate type can determine the success of the implant-supported rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to assess decision factors for the selection of the implant-abutment connection made by dentists specialized on Prosthodontics in the city of Natal/RN, registered on the CRO-RN when rehabilitating with fixed implant-supported prosthesis. Therefore, a questionnaire was developed and applied on the prosthodontists with questions regarding profile (gender, age and degree level) and the clinical practice of the professional (more frequently used types of abutment on multiple and single rehabilitation – External Hexagon (EH), Internal Hexagon (IH), Cone Morse (CM) among others; main reason of choices; pretension on changing choices; use of interchangeable prosthetic components; preference for national or foreign implants; and the occurrence of reverse planning). Data collected were evaluated by descriptive analysis (categorical variable percentage). Among the 56 participants, majority was men (58,9%), who graduated (82,1%) and specialized (53,9%) in Natal/RN, had a postgraduate education level (80,4%) and, amongst professionals that reported having other specialties (39,3%), a larger sum stated to be specialized on Implantology (54,5%). It was noticed that most participants used the EH abutment when rehabilitating multiple teeth (69,6%) and CM in single cases (82,1%). Furthermore, prosthodontists reported to interchange prosthetic components (53,6%), use of national implants (91,1%) and work in consonance with the surgeon responsible for placing the implant when planning their cases (100%). Conclusion was that most prosthodontists in Natal/RN choose for EH abutments for multiple teeth rehabilitation reasoned by facilitation of the work and, in single rehabilitation cases, they opt for CM implants due to aesthetical reasons.openAccessImplantesInterface pilar-implantePilarConexões protéticas consideradas de eleição em reabilitações implantossuportadas fixasbachelorThesis
