In performing this work, historical, comparative and statistical methods were used. The research techniques employed were the direct documentation technique and indirect documentation. Since its implementation, the El Sistema musical project has been improved and contributed to the successful widespread of musical education in Venezuela, since three hundred thousand children and young participate in the project, under the guidance of three thousand five hundred teachers of music, which teach even the children and young people with special needs. This work aims to promote the importance of the project El Sistema and of the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for the music education, before the local academic community, represented by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
