Cardiomiopatias e disfunção vestibular: relação entre comorbidades, dados metabólicos e qualidade de vida. 2022. 36f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fonoaudiologia), Departamento de Fonoaudiologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/48675Introduction: Heart failure (HF) is a clinical syndrome that affects the heart, can trigger otoneurological symptoms and several comorbidities. Objective: To verify the relationship between the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) gain, self-perception of cardiological and vestibular symptoms, anthropometric and metabolic data with the presented comorbidities in patients with heart disease. Method: Transversal, retrospective and analytical study, approved by the Ethics and Research Committee (No. 4.462.519). A survey of 34 medical records of patients treated at the HF outpatient clinic was carried out, who underwent vestibular assessment using the Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT). Information on cardiological clinical assessment, vHIT and from the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) and Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) were retrieved. The results were submitted to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: There was a predominance of adult male patients. There was a statistical association between age and diabetes mellitus (DM) and between dyslipidemia and systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP) measurements. There was also a statistical association between the VOR hypofunction in the left anterior and posterior, and lateral semicircular canals with stroke comorbidity. There was also a significant association between acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and migraine with DHI. Conclusion: In this study, there was an association between the presence of comorbid stroke in patients with HF and vestibular hypofunction in vHIT, between AMI and migraine with the greatest impact on quality of life in DHI, between dyslipidemia and BP decompensation, and between age and DM.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Insuficiência CardíacaTeste do Impulso CefálicoTonturaDoenças CardiovascularesQualidade de vidaCardiomiopatias e disfunção vestibular: relação entre comorbidades, dados metabólicos e qualidade de vidaCardiomyopathies and vestibular dysfunction: relationship between comorbidities, metabolic data and quality of lifebachelorThesis
