However, when referring to the respective cuts, it is analyzed that practically in most of the cases mentioned, there is no followup of studies that allow helping managers to understand the possible measures that could be taken based on the scenario experienced by each entity, avoiding harming its functioning. and the key activities practiced by the institutions. Currently within the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), the expenses related to the consumption of electricity are only behind the payroll, with this, despite the high costs destined for the payment of energy bills, there is a high rate of waste caused due to inappropriate use and even the scrapping of various equipment, thus making it difficult to operate effectively. In this way, energy efficiency comes into focus as one of the constitutional principles that govern the public service, with the main objective of achieving a minimum rate of waste. In addition to constitutional issues regarding public service, the millennium goals that must be achieved by the year 2030 also need to be taken into account, where obtaining clean and affordable energy is represented within item 7, with the purpose of considerably increasing of the share of renewable energies with regard to the global energy matrix in topic 7.2. Therefore, this work consists of demonstrating the technical/financial feasibility of installing a photovoltaic plant within the institution, in order to enable the reduction of university expenses through direct investment in an energy matrix, in which it allows the production of its own energy and consequently the reduction of your expenses with electricity.
