They play a significant role in developing students' cognitive skills by familiarizing them with specific concepts and sparking interest in studying these subjects. This study aimed to develop and implement an educational game for 12th-grade students from public high schools in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, incorporating gamified learning into the educational process. The game was applied to two classes during the second semester of 2024, involving the participation of 42 students. The study was grounded in David Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning and Deci and Ryan's concept of intrinsic motivation, emphasizing the importance of engaging students through activities that foster understanding and autonomy in the learning process. The pedagogical proposal was applied through a board game with cards that addressed fundamental concepts of Organic Chemistry. The game was designed to explore topics such as carbon chains, organic functions, representation forms, structural characteristics, and the properties of organic compounds. The research adopted a methodology that integrated both qualitative and quantitative approaches to measure the impacts of the intervention. During the implementation, observations were conducted, questionnaires were applied, and student testimonials were collected. These data indicated an increase in student engagement, motivation, and understanding, which contributed to making the teaching process more dynamic, interactive, and effective.
