Decentralization possible after the promulgation of the Citizen Constitution of 1988 that established to the federated entities responsibilities in the management and implementation of improvements for the population. With regard to municipalities, understood as centers of local power, fiscal autonomy was strengthened and from there, it was possible to think of public policies compatible with the different realities of the Brazilian territory. This research was organized methodologically through a single case study. The analysis and evaluation of this study is based on premises of bibliographical and documentary research carried out in the city of Arês, and its operation was based on data collection through a semi-structured interview applied to the former municipal health secretary, making it possible to present that in the city in There is a progressive increase in investment in health care, even in a period of falling revenue, as a result of management planning and a parliamentary amendment. With these resources, management has implemented improvements in the quality of infrastructure in health facilities, as well as promoting health actions more efficiently by acquiring vehicles and expanding care for patients with serious diseases.
