Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Meteorologia) - Departamento de Ciências Atmosféricas e Climáticas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/65073Given the growing demand for high-resolution environmental monitoring in urban areas, such as the city of Natal, Brazil, and considering the limitations associated with conventional high-cost systems, this study evaluated the performance of a low-cost sensor (logger, model: UNI-T UT330B USB Datalogger) in measuring air temperature (maximum and minimum) and relative humidity (maximum and minimum), in comparison with data from a reference automatic weather station installed in Natal (RN). Time series analyses, bias histograms, and linear regression were employed. The logger showed excellent agreement for air temperature, with coefficients of determination (R²) of 0.94 for maximum temperature and 0.95 for minimum temperature, despite occasional deviations during periods of higher heating. For relative humidity, greater uncertainty was observed, highlighting the need for calibration to ensure data reliability. The findings are consistent with the literature on low-cost sensor applications and indicate their potential as a viable alternative for climate monitoring, provided that proper validation and calibration procedures are followed.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Ciência cidadãConforto térmicoMonitoramneto ambientalTemperatura do ar e umidade relativa por sensor de baixo custoAir temperature and relative humidity by low-cost sensorbachelorThesisCIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA
