In my Physical Education classes in the metropolitan region of Belém/PA involving football, it is possible to identify the reproduction of cultural aspects related to sports in the southeast region and a replacement/loss of regional football culture in Pará by male and female students. For this reason, this research investigates whether there is an attempt to employ and consolidate a hegemonic culture in Brazilian football, based on the football culture of the Southeast region of the country, and how it reflects on students from other regions of Brazil, in particular the North region, state of Pará, city of Castanhal, which do not have teams from their region in the elite of Brazilian football and which did not receive/receive the same visibility by the dominant media. Through the statements and understandings of basic education students in the state of Pará, the following objectives were intended: to analyze the current situation in the conception of the culture of football in Pará and its importance, to map fans of the same teams/clubs according to with the regions, as well as identifying the relationship of interest in the teams/clubs according to the influence of the media. The research is descriptive, with a quantitative and qualitative attribute, using a questionnaire instrument and the participation of 59 students in the sixth and seventh years of elementary school at the Ana Paula dos Santos e Santos school, Castanhal/PA. Thematic analysis was used for the data interpretation process. The research results demonstrate that the understanding of football in Physical Education classes for students is still an improvement in physical, technical and tactical conditions, that appreciation for the sport does not prevent deprivation for a large portion of students and that there is a students' strong interest in consuming southeastern culture and clubs (in particular, the Clube de Regatas Flamengo) with considerable influence from the dominant media. However, they also reveal the eagerness and desire of students to enjoy the football culture of their region in Physical Education classes.
