For this purpose, the simulator is used as an instrument. Using the simulator brings several advantages for teaching, especially for training in medication administration techniques. Therefore, the objective was to describe the perceptions of undergraduate nursing students regarding the use of a low-cost simulator for administering medications to infants. To develop the study, the descriptive qualitative study method was used, with interviews carried out with 18 nursing students, which were transcribed and subsequently submitted to the IRaMuTeQ software for analysis. The result of the interviews was evidence of four thematic axes: potential for using a low-cost simulator in subcutaneous, intravenous and intramuscular administration routes; the realistic experience of using the low-cost simulator; practical application of theoretical knowledge learned and practical gaps and repercussions on the safety of medication administration.
