It modulates behaviors and when poorly used can cause poor sleep habits that lead to health and learning impairments. Among the harms caused by sleep deprivation we can mention: attention deficit, irritability and memory difficulties that directly influence learning. In view of this, it is necessary to discuss this problem in school curricula and teacher training. Based on this, the objective of this research was to promote the teaching of chronobiology in teacher training using the problematization as motivating element for the promotion of healthy habits of sleep and application in the classroom. The methodology used in this study was the qualitative research and the treatment of the data was done through the qualitative-quantitative analysis. The target audience was a group of 30 undergraduates from the Institutional Scholarship Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (Natal / RN). The methodological course was developed following 3 stages: I) elaboration of an educational product aimed at training teachers with emphasis on health and citizenship II) application of the workshop "On or off? The impacts of media technologies on the sleep wake cycle "for biology course graduates; III) evaluation of the potentialities and limitations of the educational product. Although 62% of the graduates say they understand the concept of biological rhythm, most of them associate this concept only with the sleep-wake cycle. Alternative conceptions regarding chronotype were identified. Most students use their cell phone, computer and TV in the bedroom after 9 pm. In addition, the daily duration of these resources is about 14 hours, week and weekend. They recognized the harms of inappropriate use of media technologies and signaled that time management in the use of these features would be a solution to the problem. The workshop was evaluated positively and culminated in the elaboration of a didactic unit directed to basic education, being an educational product of this research.
