To do so, it will discuss the trajectory of this teaching stage, both in Brazil and in the world. It is a qualitative and bibliographical research based on documents such as the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education - Law 9,394 / 96 and the National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Education (1998) and works by authors such as Kramer (2000), Barbosa (2006) and Montessori (1967).
