Formação sobre o cuidado à população Lésbica, Gay, Bissexual, Travesti e Transexual em cursos de Fonoaudiologia do Nordeste brasileiro. 2022. 43f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fonoaudiologia), Departamento de Fonoaudiologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/50291Objectives: Questioning the teaching-learning process in health is an urgent need to consolidate the fact that scientific knowledge, solely and exclusively, does not cover the subjects' subjectivities and does not reach the concepts of humanization and integral care considered as health budgets in Brazil. (BRAZIL, 2004). Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the inclusion of themes about the health of the LBGT population in health education in speech therapy courses at public universities located in the Brazilian Northeast. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) under opinion nº nº 4.949.051, carried out with graduating students of speech therapy courses at public universities located in the Brazilian Northeast. Results: In the analyzed period, 55 answers were obtained in the questionnaire made available to analyze the students' knowledge. The questionnaire was formulated in 3 modules: 1 - Characterization of the students; 2 - University education and 3 - Students' conceptions. In view of the responses obtained, it was possible to verify, for the most part, low percentages of people who claim to have had access to content on the health of the LGBT population during their health training. Conclusion: Therefore, it is very urgent to reformulate the curriculum of speech therapy courses in order to include discussions, themes and experiences that can offer students access to the necessary knowledge to act with universality and equity in this population. Such an attitude will provide professionals with welcoming service, political and social knowledge, improve the health care rates of these users and create environments without prejudice and discrimination.
