By properly choosing the structural index of the gravimetric field, which represents the decay rate of the field anomaly, it is possible to estimate the depth of potential sources, without the need to establish a particular interpretative model. The use of the analytical signal field can be applied to gravity gradient tensor (TGG) data in three dimensions, increasing the stability of the method by removing the need to assign a structural index a priori. The spatial distribution of potential sources can provide information about the structural fabric of sedimentary basins. Therefore, the work contemplates the application of the Euler deconvolution method to the directional analytical signal in a set of gravimetric gradient tensor data for mapping and estimating depths in the Potiguar basin, compared with the performance of traditional Euler solutions with those obtained with the analytical signal, in an area of approximately 12 km x 12 km south of the city of Mossoró.
