Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição), Departamento de Nutrição, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/46074Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a set of dysfunctions in the body that cause changes in blood glucose, triglycerides, HDL-c and blood pressure levels, leading to the emergence of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and obesity, with a higher prevalence in women, which under go several hormonal and metabolic changes through out life. The present study aims to evaluate the dietary intake of macro and micronutrients and their relationship with body adiposity parameters in women with MS. This is a comparative cross-sectional study carried out with 71 women aged between 18 and 60 years old with a BMI above 25.0 kg/m² treatedatthe Endocrinology and Metabology Service of HC-FMUSP. Food consumption wase valuated from the application of R24h. For anthropometric assessment, measurements of weight, height and waist circumference weretaken. Nutritional status was assessed by BMI (kg/m²) and waist circumference was used as na indicator of visceral fat. The assessment of body fat percentage was performed with theaidof Bioelectrical Impedance. The results showed that thereported energy intake was substantially lower than the estimated energy requirement, as well as the consumption of monounsaturated, polyunsaturated and fiberfats, while the consumption of saturated fats was above the recommended value. Inadequacy of consumption of all micronutrients evaluated was also observed, and such mal adjustments in consumption have been mentioned as important factors for the development of chronic non-communicable diseases, and, consequently, for MS. Thus, it is of fundamental importance to guide the adoption of healthy habits and promote nutritional interventions aimed at minimizing the effects of this inadequate dietary practice, and thus enabling the prevention of the development of cardiometabolicdiseases.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Síndrome MetabólicaMetabolicSyndromeFisiopatologiaPathophysiologyConsumo AlimentarFood ConsumptionObesidadeObesityConsumo alimentar e parâmetros de adiposidade corporal em mulheres com síndrome metabólicaFood consumption and parameters of body adiposity in women with metabolic syndromebachelorThesis
