I intend to show that these notions still remain important to organize modern cities by discussing the ‘healthy cities’ project. I suggest to incorporate an ethical dimension into the discourse of healthy lifestyles, in the light of Kant´s conception of duties to oneself and his doctrine of virtue. My aim, with this new dimension strongly teleological, is to bring together man and city once againpt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Promoção da saúdeFilosofiaCidade saudávelVirtudeMedicineHealthPhilosophyCityVirtueCiências da saúdeMedicina e filosofia hoje: uma aproximação necessária para as cidades saudáveisMedicine and philosophy today: a necessary approach to healthy citiesarticle
