The PIBID-Dance subproject UFRN aimstopromotespaces for reflectionanddiscussionabout dance and its teaching, as well as organize, socialize andarticulateacademicandartisticproductionsrelatedto dance as knowledge. For theorganizationofthisarticle, whichdealswiththerelationshipbetweenteacherandstudent, wasusedexperiencesofinitiationtoteachingstudent, in PIBID-Dance subprojectof UFRN, consideringtheobservationsofjournalingfieldduringdevelopmentoftheproject, in 2015. Theywerealsoconducted interviews withstudents in theformofconversationandvideotaped in ordertounderstandthevisionofthesameabouttherelationshipbetweenthemandthe dance teacher. Throughtheexperienceofinitiationtoteaching in PIBID-dance UFRN, atthe Municipal School Professora Zenaide Igino de Moura, it waspossibletounderstandhowtheteacher-studentrelationshipcanbe a differential in dance education, andhowthroughtheaffectiverelationshipwiththestudent, theteachercanmakethedifference in hislifeand in hiswillingnessto dance. From a relationshipmediatedbytheauthorityandalterity, the professor teachesstudentstodevelop a critical look atthe dance.
