Gamification, the application of game mechanics in non-playful contexts, constitutes an active learning methodology that promotes motivation and critical and active thinking. Thus, the research aims, specifically, to characterize which information skills are recommended for children and adolescents aged 11 to 14 years; carry out a survey of gamified activities aimed at school libraries, including those aimed at the development of information skills; and create modeling of appropriate gamified activities to develop in the context of school libraries. For this purpose, bibliographical research is used, as well as the adaptation of models for gamification design. As a fundamental result of the research, a gamification design model was elaborated, and also, based on it, three gamified activities are proposed to develop information skills, related to, for example, understanding the school library, its organization and systematization and understanding about information sources and online research strategies, all feasible in school libraries. It is concluded that the literature points to the benefits of gamification for greater motivation and learning efficiency.
