Thus, a bibliometric study of the following variables was carried out: authors, periodicals and year of publication in order to explore how this field has behaved over the years. The content analysis was also called in order to identify through the reading of the empirical articles, the work of the professional librarian, the users involved and the environments of the actions. From the data col-lected, assessed that the production of Bibliotherapy is little produced scientific, a significant concen-tration around some authors and journals. However, this theme has shown some growth in this dec-ade. Most of the studies involve children and the elderly. And the most recurrent environments are hospitals and nursing homes.
