Monografia (Graduação em Engenharia Civil) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/53253In order to develop new construction methodologies that are more sustainable, of rapid execution and that allow to efficiently meet the housing deficit, several construction methodologies have been emerging, one of them being the construction with the use of container, where the use of steel modules for the survey of houses is made. These modules can be obtained through the reuse of marine containers or manufactured with adaptations for this purpose. Therefore, the present work aims to analyze the constructive feasibility of the use of this material in the execution of residences in housing programs, doing so through analysis of the methodology, as well as through comparison with the most usual construction method, this being the conventional masonry. The study begins by addressing the characteristics around the methodologies addressed and also their constructive step-by-step. Next, it addresses the use of the container in civil construction, citing the existing standards, how its application is made and its history to this day. Subsequently, a comparison of execution costs is carried out, through projects developed with the aid of software: Autodesk Revit, TQS and Microsoft Excel. In them were developed the architectural, hydrosanitary, electrical and structural projects, as well as the spreadsheets to carry out the cost surveys, using the existing budget bases with the prices of the services necessary for the works, being the same done for analysis of maintenance costs necessary for the houses. Finally, the comparison was made through the budget made on top of the projects used as a basis, as well as the constructive steps and the advantages and disadvantages found. With this, the results show that currently the price of a container home has a higher cost, around 7% more than conventional masonry, however it presents itself as a viable option for use in housing programs, because despite the higher cost, the difference was not very large and its advantages compensate for the extra cost.
