Methods: This is a cross-sectional, population-based study targeting elderly individuals aged 60 years or older. Data were obtained from the most recent edition of the National Health Survey conducted in Brazil. The final analyzed sample comprised 43,554 elderly individuals. Initially, the chi-square test was employed, followed by prevalence ratios adjusted using a Poisson multiple regression model to identify associations between the variables. Results: The prevalence of total edentulism among the elderly was 32%. Multivariate analysis revealed that this condition was significantly associated with female sex (p-value < 0.001), older age (p-value < 0.001), lack of education (p value < 0.001), absence of dental insurance (p-value < 0.001), smoking (p-value < 0.001), consumption of sugary soft drinks (p-value < 0.001), and lack of physical activity(p-value<0.001).Conclusion: Total edentulism in the elderly was associated with unfavorable socioeconomic conditions, smoking, consumption of sugary soft drinks, and the absence of regular physical activity.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/idososelderlyestilo de vidalifestylearcada edêntulaedentulousfatores associadosassociated factorsprevalênciaprevalenceEstilo de vida associado a perda dentária total em idosos: uma análise multivariadaLifestyle associated with total tooth loss in the elderly: a multivariate analysisbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
