However, there are several issues that can influence a pregnant woman's food consumption and nutritional status. Therefore, the objective of this work was to describe, based on scientific literature, the possibility of interference of dietary changes that occur during pregnancy, on the nutritional status of pregnant women. The present study is a narrative review, being developed from the search for scientific articles available in electronic databases (Scielo, Lilacs and Pubmed), articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish, published in the last 8 years, were used. As for the period for data collection, it occurred between the months of October and November 2023. The studies show the importance of the mother's nutrition during pregnancy for the baby's survival, highlighting the relevance of positive dietary changes, with a quality diet mainly associated with women with higher education. However, other studies show a high consumption of ultra-processed foods by pregnant women, contributing to excess weight and nutritional deficiencies, associated with increased risks and health problems for mother and child. Furthermore, it was identified that the presence of food beliefs and taboos is very present during the gestational period, culminating in food aversions that can compromise maternal and child health. Therefore, healthy and adequate nutrition should always be encouraged in order to provide the best maternal and fetal outcome, considering that this phase has a high nutritional demand for the pregnant woman herself, as well as for the baby in formation.Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/br/GestaçãoAlimentaçãoMudanças alimentaresEstado nutricionalMudanças alimentares durante a gestação e impacto no estado nutricional: uma revisão de literaturaDietary changes during pregnancy and impact on the state nutritional: a literature reviewbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
