From its implementation, progressively, the change in the management model established a new institutional dynamic, which changed the processes, the organization and working conditions, as well as the socio-professional relations, directly impacting the worker's performance and subjectivity. Considering that long working hours, work overload, exposure to risks and illness are part of the daily lives of most health workers who perform their activities in hospitals, and also that organizational change can be configured as a generator of tension and illness. This study aimed to discuss the relationship between work context and illness in a scenario of recent change in the management model from the implementation of the EBSERH, from the perspective of statutory nurses of the Onofre Lopes University Hospital - HUOL. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews and structured questionnaire, and were later analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The population consisted of 41 statutory nurses working at HUOL from 2011 to 2015, that is, two years before and two years after the implementation of EBSERH. The results indicate that, in the investigated context, there is a growing dissatisfaction with the current management due to the conditions and forms of organization, and mainly due to the aspects related to the social dimension of work. Thus, the socio-professional relationships are an important element to negatively impact the health and well-being of HUOL's statutory nurse servant.
