The tourist inventory process of cities of Polo Seridó started from an extension project of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), entitle “Tourist Inventory of the cities of the Polo Seridó Council’, by the tourism course students of CERES/Campus Currais Novos. The cities that makes up of the Polo Seridó Council Tourism are: Acari, Caicó, Carnaúba dos Dantas, Cerro Corá, Currais Novos, Florânia, Jucurutu, Lagoa Nova, Parelhas and Serra Negra do Norte. They were put recently in the Brazilian Tourism Map according with the update from 2017. The methodology used in tourist inventory refers the same used by the Brazilian Tourism Ministry and the methodology of this work concerns the delimitation of the spatial and temporal clipping; bibliographic and documentary survey; data selection; evaluation of surveys field and evaluation of interview granted by public tourism managers of the cities inventoried. By the way, this study has an empirical and technical basis with a qualitative analytical approach. The results of this work shows that the Polo Seridó cities has tourism potential, but they aren’t destinations consolidated, considering the lack of tourism planning and effective public policies. So, the extension project has as a proposal to do the regular and systematic of the tourist inventory of the cities that are part of the Polo Seridó Tourism Council, because the tourist inventory is the first technical and methodological element for the construction for the tourist planning, because the city comes to know what his had to offer in a detailed way, which allows the best directio to make decisions, implementation of structuring actions and especial, the better performance of public management in the tourism. Also it was found that the municipalities have several tourist enterprises, consequently generating formal jobs, as well as large regional events that generate tourism movement and add value in a generation of wealth, business and jobs.openAccessPlanejamento TurísticoInventariação TurísticaPolo SeridóConselho de TurismobachelorThesis
