At the national level, the onshore artificial lifting method with the greater range of wells and production is the Sucker-Rod Pump (SRP), so the improvement of control strategies aimed at this method progressively occupy space in the national research with the implementation of new control techniques capable of to ensure more rigorous monitoring and cost reduction of well production. Therefore, the core of this work was to present a controller applied to the SRP aiming at greater accuracy and agility in production monitoring and operational cost reduction. To control the partial filling of the downhole pump through the manipulating the pumping velocity, the proposed tool presented in this study is a Proportional Integral (PI) controller with tuning and auto-tuning, developed in the JAVA programming language on the NetBeans IDE platform, capable of monitor the performance of the well over time with tuning adjustment using the relay method, adopted due to its applicability and simplicity. The validation of the control algorithm was done using the SRP Simulator (SRPS) virtual well, analyzing the achieved results.
