It is, therefore, a descriptive and exploratory research with a qualitative approach. For data collection, we conducted semi-structured interviews with visually impaired subjects at the ophthalmology outpatient clinic of Onofre Lopes University Hospital (HUOL), in the city of Natal. The data were treated in light of the thematic analysis method described by Minayo (2008) and the contents of the listed registration units, inspired by the model of Social Determination of Health, proposed by Dahlgren and Whitehead (1991).
