Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Ciências Contábeis) - Departamento de Ciências Exatas e Aplicadas, Centro de Ensino Superior do Seridó, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Caicó, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62440This study addresses the perception of undergraduate and former students of the Accounting Science course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Caicó campus, about the career of Forensic Accountant. The research investigates how these individuals view the profession, in a scenario where interest in the area among accounting students is limited. The main objective was to understand the perception of these audiences, analyzing factors that impact the choice of career. Specifically, we sought to identify the profile of the participants, the level of knowledge about the area, the interest in the profession, the motivational and demotivating factors, in addition to proposing institutional improvements to encourage adherence to the career of forensic accountant. The justification for the study lies in the relevance of Forensic Accounting for the market and the need to stimulate the interest of students, contributing to the valorization of the profession. The research also aims to support improvements in teaching strategies and in the promotion of the career, meeting the demands of the market and the expectations of future accountants. Methodologically, the research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach and a survey method. The structured questionnaire, applied in person and online through the Google Forms platform, obtained 47 respondents and analyzed variables such as demographic profile, academic background and career choice factors. The data analysis included tables to facilitate the interpretation of the results. The results indicated low adherence to the area of forensic accounting, motivated by lack of knowledge of the profession (46.8%), insufficient academic background (34%) and lack of practical activities in the undergraduate course (76.6%). Suggestions included early introduction of the discipline, greater use of academic practices and partnerships with junior companies, such as Caju. It was concluded that it is necessary to strengthen the connection between theory and practice, promote dissemination strategies to increase interest in Forensic Accounting, and develop more qualified professionals.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Perícia contábilCiências contábeisMercado de trabalhoPerito contábilAccounting expertLabor MarketForensic accountingAccounting sciencesA percepção de alunos e egressos do curso de ciências contábeis da UFRN Ceres Caicó sobre a carreira de perito contábilThe perception of students and graduates of the accounting sciences program at UFRN Ceres Caicó regarding the career of a forensic accountantbachelorThesis
