The phenomenological multisensory experience and environmental perception shed light on the theme and emphatically challenge modern design and its urban planning. The City of Natal fits under this analysis and becomes the datum point, over the decades, for works that examine environmental perception in a contemporary context. The present essay, therefore, has as its object of study the environmental landscape and the espousal of public spaces. In this context, the essay establishes as a general objective the approach of ephemeral installations in Natal/RN that show new possibilities of apprehension and environmental perception of the urban landscape. It also establishes three other specific aims, which are: to discuss the phenomenon of environmental perception in the contemporary city; articulate previous works that deal with the theme of environmental perception in the city of Natal/RN and, finally, apply the analyzes in urban interventions in the form of ephemeral structures that enable the occupation and appropriation of public areas in a positive way.
