The city experienced a period of great difficulties and serious consequences for the population of the place in the period mentioned above, due to a very difficult political and social situation, marked by conflicts between local and state governments and a strong stay. It was in this period that theatrical practice arose in the city, adding to the poorest population of the city an artistic discourse with critical sensitivity to change this situation of difficulties experienced by residents. It is known that a local identity was built along with the theatrical practice that was perpetuated for several years, including several elements in the urban structure that refer to this period of local history. However, based on the critical analysis of didactic elements of history teaching in public schools in the city, there is a lack of an approach to local history, which has generated disinterest in the discipline of History by local students. This research also seeks to understand the construction and existence of different historical discourses that are propagated over the years in school education and emphasizes the absence of this discussion of local history in the history teaching of public schools in the city and its main consequences.
