Percepção dos profissionais de Saúde da Atenção Primária de Barcelona-RN sobre o suicídio. 2018. 59f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Saúde Coletiva), Departamento de Saúde Coletiva, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/54812This study presents Suicide in Primary Care as an object of investigation, a problem of great impact in the world and Brazilian population. Mental Health Policy in Brazil has among its organizational guidelines the implementation of Psychosocial Care Networks where Primary Care would be the gateway to this network and with defined responsibilities in the identification of mental health problems. According to the World Health Organization, identifying the risk of suicide early and preventing it is a challenge for health professionals and the community at large, especially because of the taboo surrounding this phenomenon. Through this qualitative study, we tried to answer the objective of identifying the perception of Primary Care professionals of the Unified Health System of Barcelona / RN on the suicide and the role of this level of attention in facing this health problem. Semi - structured interviews were conducted with 15 primary health care professionals in Barcelona - RN, who showed us that there is a consensus among those interviewed to consider suicide as a complex problem that is the result of despair and various biological, psychological, social, affective, economic, and spiritual issues with emphasis on the relationship to depression or other mental disorder and the use of alcohol and other drugs. For all interviewees, not all suicides are the same, hanging and poisoning are the most common ways of committing the act, they consider that for the population it is still a taboo and that, while recognizing the importance of the role of Primary Care and Family Health in Suicide Prevention and Risk Identification, consider that it is necessary to refer cases to specialized levels of care for psychologist and psychiatrist care and agree that Primary Care professionals need more training and knowledge to deal with the problem. We conclude that in the interviewees' perception, the major obstacle to suicide prevention and the other responsibilities attributed by the normative instruments in force is the lack of qualification of the health team professionals who need training and to develop actions aimed at adequate coping with this problem, including educating the population to change the stigmatizing culture about people who commit or attempt suicideAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/SuicídioSuicideAtenção PrimáriaPrimary attentioPercepção dos profissioanisPerception of professionalsEstratégia de Saúde da FamíliaFamily Health StrategyPercepção dos profissionais de Saúde da Atenção Primária de Barcelona-RN sobre o suicídiobachelorThesis
