In addition, IoT systems can collect inaccurate data. This work presents anAlert Module developed with the purpose of detecting failures in IoT systems. This moduleis used inSmart Place, an IoT system that aims to reduce the electricity consumptionby the automatic and efficient management of air conditioners usage. Smart Place is inoperation at 30 (thirty) classrooms of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte(UFRN). The architecture of the Alert Module is based on MAPE-K, a model for thedevelopment of autonomic applications proposed by IBM. Following this model, the alertmodule encompasses the phases ofmonitoring, analysis, planning, and executionand aknowledge base.
