However, high workloads and inefficient information systems make it difficult to find relevant information. Based on a previous investigation on the information behavior of professionals, this study aimed to propose an information architecture for a search engine to support permanent health education. A qualitative exploratory study was conducted that (1) analyzed educational materials on safe medication administration, (2) developed an initial version of the information architecture on this topic, (3) evaluated the architecture with the participation of nurses and (4) made the necessary adjustments to the final version. The proposed architecture organizes information on safe medication administration according to the cognitive structure of health professionals, aiming to support the search for information during permanent health education in the future.
