The general is to discuss the importance of the Universal Decimal Classification for the Organization of Knowledge. Epecificly, we pretend to discuss the concept of Organization of Knowledge and its principles; to point out the advantages and critical aspects brought about by the use of the CDU in the OC; and to reflect the CDU's position in relation to other bibliographic classification systems. For execution, we used bibliographical revision in the midst of books and periodicals in the Library information area.
