This issue causes discomfort in the discussion of an increasingly sustainable society. In the case of Brazil, aluminum recycling is highly employed, being one of the champion countries in this regard, however, even in the country that recycles the most, there are no new techniques for reusing it more productively. This set of characteristics promotes a scenario prone to the study of new materials, among them, the intermetallic compounds stand out. Intermetallic materials have physical properties and attractive mechanical properties, which makes them admirable materials, in addition to occupying an intermediate category between metallic and non-metallic materials. The main objective of this work is to carry out a study that allows the application of a new technique to recycle waste mixtures in the form of chips, from the machining of aluminum and iron, through the application of high-energy milling and acquiring a formation of intermetallics. In this way, a theoretical-experimental approach was developed to investigate the nature and production process of the Al-Fe intermetallics. These phases were obtained during the high-energy milling that transformed the aluminum and iron waste, into metallic powder. The powders were then analyzed using X-Ray Diffraction, X-Ray Fluorescence, and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
