Orientador: Fabio Fonseca Figueiredo. 2023. 68 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Gestão de Politicas Publicas) - Departamento de Politicas Publica, Universidade Federal do Rio grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/56950The practice of cycling, historically associated with the transportation of economically disadvantaged populations, has evolved significantly over time. Currently, the act of cycling not only transcends its previous stigmatization but also emerges as a rapidly growing activity, attracting an increasingly diverse base of cyclists. In this context, Bicycle advocacy emerges as a specific form of political engagement, aiming to champion the safe right of cyclists to use public roads. This political movement reflects a growing demand for an urban environment that promotes and respects the presence of cyclists, considering not only individual safety but also collective well-being. This work constitutes a case study, employing a qualitative exploratory methodological approach, incorporating literature review, documentary analysis, and interviews. In light of the obtained results, the effectiveness of collaboration between bike activists and municipal administration is evident, manifesting in tangible outcomes. However, as a point of vulnerability, Natal still requires significant progress to align itself with the cycling infrastructure standards and cycling culture found in other capitals.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/BicicletaCicloativismoMobilidade ativaPedalando em Natal: cicloativismo em uma cidade menos motorizadaPedaling in Natal: cycling in a less motorized citybachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS
