The recent disasters of Brumadinho and Mariana, in Minas Gerais, have opened the flaws of the environmental licensing process in the country and impose the urgency of an effective inspection of the issue, both of society and of the academy. In view of this, the present seeks to analyze, from the Environment Impact Reports, the situation of industries focused in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. From a methodology of evaluation of RIMAs based on the assignment of values ​​and documental analysis, it was sought to construct an overview of the state situation, pointing out the main errors found and which points were neglected in the stages of environmental diagnosis, impact assessment and management, all the necessary parts to build an environmental impact assessment.
