Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study, unicego held in newborns at term, of both sexes, with up to 72 hours of life. For the evaluation of photogrammetry, newborns were positioned supine on the bench support with maximum exposure of the thoracic region. Adhesives used markers on the thoracoabdominal region to geometrically define the sub-compartments, thoracic and abdominal, methodology of Ricieri (2009). Each newborn was filmed for 60 seconds before and after the completion of vibrocompression maneuver, which was held for five minutes by the same physical therapist. The frames have been analyzed in AutoCAD and the sub-compartments, expressed in cm2, were analyzed statistically using SPSS 20.0, the highest and lowest area, were analyzed statistically as inspiratory and expiratory time, respectively. Results: We studied 20 infants, 12 female and 40% born by cesarean section. The phase interpretation of frames was performed in 280 images, of which 140 before vibrocompression maneuver and 140 after. All assessed sub-compartments showed higher values after the maneuver except the abdominal area, but none of the variables was statistically significant, considering p <0.05. Conclusion: biofotogramétrico model used in this study was efficient to quantify the thoracoabdominal mobility and although no statistical significance, the results show that after vibrocompression maneuver there is an increase in inspiratory and expiratory chest and abdominal areas of expandability.embargoedAccessMecânica respiratóriaFotogrametriaRecém-nascidoFisioterapiabachelorThesis
