Vivência: Revista de Antropologia, v. 43, p. 67-84, 2014.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/20638In this article, the goal is to reflect upon the senses of the insertion of youths and women in the political struggle promoted by the MST, referring to the settlements as a proper space for this involvement. The purpose is to describe dynamics related to the construction of engagement of youths and women as worthy of rights, starting from the investment in the education and schooling and the reference to the settlements as places of resistance. Via the ethnography in the 6th congress and dialogue about questions brought up with the researches performed in rural settlements in the south and northeast of Brazil, the leading role of youths and women is spotted as possibility of incrementing and promoting political demands that benefit all involved in the political actions promoted by MST. However, it is noticed that there are challenges in the accomplishment of this project, mostly concerning the location, which are evident in the particular trajectories of youths and women who reside in these settlements.porAcesso AbertoAssentamentos RuraisJovensMulheresarticle
