Orientador: Dr. José Diniz Júnior. 2023. 100f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Ensino na Saúde) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/58106Introduction: the Ana Bezerra university hospital has a maternity profile and has in its settings newborns diagnosed with ankyloglossia, a congenital disorder that can make breastfeeding difficult. Its treatment is done through lingual frenotomy surgery. To achieve this, the hospital has an interprofessional team responsible for this care process. However, this team does not have an online educational product to support them in the teaching-learning process. Objective: Build a serious game-type educational technology to support ongoing education on lingual frenotomy. Method: methodological research into the creation of educational technology, developed between August 2022 and March 2023, in a Federal public hospital. It had the interprofessional team as its target audience and was carried out in three stages. The first aimed to collect information about the participants' learning needs, using two methods for data collection: a) online focus group and b) virtual questionnaire. The second aimed to develop a serious question and answer game aimed at the teaching- learning process of research participants. The third had a qualitative and quantitative approach and aimed to obtain satisfaction data and suggestions for the game. It was directed to the Dental team, with a N of nine participants and data collection was obtained through an online form, containing closed and open questions. Results: the research had 20 participants. In the first stage, the focus group brought the professionals' perception on topics related to the care process for newborns with ankyloglossia. As for the questionnaire, it provided data on knowledge of the frenotomy surgery process. Both methods served as a basis for diagnosing the teams' learning needs and served as a basis for creating the game. In the second stage, an educational technology was created, a serious quiz-type game. It was built on an online platform, it was called QUIZFRENOTOMY. It contains ten questions aimed at the process of lingual frenotomy surgery in newborns, and is available on a website for use by teams. For the third stage, it was observed that 100% of participants were in favor of including the game as an instrument to support learning; 100% agreed that the game covered the stages of the frenotomy process – and 100% also responded that they would recommend the game to other Dentistry teams who were going to perform frenotomy; 88% considered that it facilitated the theoretical learning process of frenotomy; 99% considered that the content was appropriate for the frenotomy learning process; 99% considered it important to have an instrument to support learning frenotomy like the game used. As for suggestions for improvement, they ranged from the insertion of new question topics to the insertion of videos, however, without harming the purpose of the game. Conclusions: the game proved to be very effective for use in the theoretical teaching-learning process of frenotomy surgery by the target audience and can contribute to educational interventions within hospital institutions that have the same profile as Huab.
