To achieve this, questionnaires were applied, and interviews were conducted with veteran fishermen and their children, totaling a sample of 16 participants. The questions addressed aspects such as demographic characteristics, economic conditions, equipment used, production and marketing data, in addition to exploring how generational succession occurs. Data analysis was carried out using Bardin's content analysis technique. The results indicated that the fishermen have extensive experience in the sector, with equipment acquired mainly through their own resources. The sale of fish predominantly occurs through intermediaries, which contributes to relatively low income. Regarding generational succession, the situation proved to be complex. A significant shift in the value placed on education was observed, with fishermen encouraging their children to seek better living conditions through education.
